Brief

Design challenge is about creating a design experience for bus drivers and agencies to help them report emergencies on the spot.

Problem

  • Resistance from users to digital transformation
  • Drivers trying to fix the situation without reporting
  • Passengers panic during an emergency
  • Having one of the following emergencies:
  • Not having real-time reporting to problems
  • No control on the bus in case hijacked.
  • Downtime Vehicles due to accumulated system errors.

Goals

  • Improve communication between Drivers and Agencies in real-time.
  • Help Drivers execute their routes safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate with passengers during emergency incidents.
  • Use Technology to listen and see emergency circumstances.
  • Control bus in case of an emergency.

Solution

  • Creating user-friendly interface with seamless design and clear language for drivers.
  • Encouraging drivers to rely on the system by confirming the delivery of their message with real data of dispatcher name or employee evolved.
  • Collecting reports daily from drivers to follow up on each error and do maintenance on time.
  • Using mics in case of emergency to calm down passengers and guide them with instructions.
  • Creating a lockdown to the bus system and opening doors remotely to enable passengers to leave.
  • Hiding camera to transmit real footage in case of hijacking or emergency.
  • Having an SOS button to report emergencies instantly.

  • Would you prefer to record an incident report or write it?
  • Would you consider warning messages distracting during driving?
  • What problems do you face with current technology?
  • What would encourage you to use new technology?
